Audrey Souders, Melissa Kiel and Jared Geist and their supporters say the Board should not have tried to remove Ms. Sullivan as Board President (refer to a September 11 motion to remove Ms. Sullivan as President, which failed with a 4-5 vote). Some have tried to argue the Board should not remove her ‘because there are only a few meetings left’ and ‘she’s not even running again’.
Mr. Geist, an attorney, said of Mr. DeLaite on his mailer “he also voted to remove a duly elected President with no evidence and zero understanding of what was required to do so.”
Mr. Geist, an attorney, does not have his facts straight. Mr. DeLaite did have his facts straight, and knew exactly ‘what was required to do so’. There was a proper motion on the floor that the Board was obligated to vote on. The Board President did not understand Roberts’ Rules and Board policy, and called board counsel from the dais during the meeting (further waste of legal fees). Board counsel confirmed that the Board members who brought the motion had a proper motion, no ‘evidence’ was required. The Board counsel confirmed that Ms. Sullivan did not properly understand Roberts Rules and Board policy. The Board President was elected by the Board and can be removed by the Board.
What do we know now? A fifth Board member has publicly stated that they ‘so want to change their vote’ (to remove Ms. Sullivan). Ms. Sullivan has a significant lack of trust from the majority of the Board.
Mr. Geist should get his facts straight. Vote King, Eilert and DeLaite.
