The RIH BOE is meeting tomorrow August 28th, 8pm in the Ramapo Auditorium. The agenda includes the acceptance of Dr. Dionisio's resignation, effective November 12, 2023 or earlier if mutually agreed. The August 23 Special Meeting called by Ms. Sullivan to accept his resignation failed to achieve a quorum. The agenda items for tomorrow now include advertising internally and externally for an interim Superintendent (no start date listed) and soliciting proposals from professional service firms to conduct a Superintendent Search. It is unclear who wrote these motions, as the Board has not met to discuss this since Dr. Dionisio submitted his resignation.
The agenda also includes a hearing / vote on the Curriculum for the year. As noted in my post on August 11, last year Judy Sullivan and Mariana Emmolo both voted NO to the Curriculum. As they were in the minority, that did not effect the outcome. If Ms. Sullivan leads her majority of Parents Rights board members to vote NO on the Curriculum tomorrow, we could have a chaotic start to the school year with nothing approved to be taught.
