NorthJersey dot com recently provided an overview of the RIH BOE election, and I continue to support the 'Supporting Our Students' ticket of Aaron Lorenz, Helen Koulikourdis, and John Kinney. While the opposition candidates claim to be 'independent,' their petitions were signed by current majority board members Kim Ansh and Audrey Souders, and they’re being backed by local political figures. The connections are clear, and it's important to ask whether politics should continue to influence our schools.

I also want to bring attention to a transparency issue: When I requested a copy of the $245K settlement agreement related to the rescinded superintendent contract, the document I received was heavily redacted, and the district paid over $2K in legal fees for those redactions. Interestingly, the reporter was able to obtain an unredacted version from the NJ Commissioner of Education. This raises serious concerns about whether information is being unnecessarily hidden from the public. I hope the Board will seek a refund for the legal fees associated with these redactions, as the community deserves full transparency.
