Reminder of RIH BOE Board Actions on World Mental Health Day

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Remember July 2023 when the Board majority (Sullivan, Ansh, Emmolo, Mariani) voted to DEFUND our district’s mental health programs? Kim Ansh compared mental health issues to a toothache, and said ‘enough is enough’ when casting her NO vote.

Marianna Emmolo (Wyckoff) voted to defund those programs.

Helen Koulikourdis (Franklin Lakes) and Aaron Lorenz (Oakland) voted to keep them.

Superintendent Dr. Dionisio was visibly shocked at the Board majority's action to defund the programs. He published an op-ed on the importance of mental health support in schools (link in comments). He resigned from our district the following month.

Vote to protect our children. Vote for Supporting our Students.
