Agenda for the April 19th Meeting -Budget Hearing, Personnel Motions & Much More

The next meeting of the RIH BOE is Monday April 29th at 5:30pm at the Indian Hills Cafeteria. This is the scheduled Budget Hearing Meeting.
There are three presentations on the agenda including NJSBA Board Training, a Curriculum Presentation and the 2024-2025 Budget Presentation.
Amongst the numerous motions on the agenda are Personnel motions including the resignation of School Counselor Susan Wiener, a change in assignment for an Admin Asst to Admin Asst/Bookeeper with a 9% raise, a financial Settlement Agreement for a student, an HIB case, and approval of a $308K contract with Bergen County Special Services to provide staffing consultant services.
There is a motion to reject all five bids received for Wellness Room renovations at Ramapo and Indian Hills as 'too expensive' and instructing the Business Administrator to revise the project specifications and re-advertise.
Many of us have been advocating for more financial transparency for years, the Board has FINALLY started including links to financial reports they are voting on in the agenda such as committed purchase orders, etc.
Ironically, the agenda does NOT include a link to the details of the $69.6 million taxpayer funded Budget which is being voted on.
A first reading of Policy 5410.1 Commencement Activities is proposed.
