The next meeting of the RIH BOE is Monday March 11, 8pm at the Ramapo High School Auditorium. There is a lot to unpack on the agenda. There are motions to restructure Supervisor Staff positions and create several new positions which appear to be reporting to the new curriculum director (P4 and P5, see also my previous post on the restructuring), a vague motion to approve "the Revised Program of Studies 2024-2025" which could be anything, a motion to approve the 2024-2025 school calendar (E7), a motion to approve the tentative 2024-2025 budget (F1), and a recommendation from the Superintendent to abolish several policies including Policy 5756 Transgender Students.
I expect it will be a long meeting. At the last meeting the Board arrived for public session almost an hour late, so be prepared for a late evening.
Update on March 9 at 6:15pm: The abolishment of Policy 5756 Transgender Students was removed from the agenda over the weekend, but has been added back.
